Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora Catuai Black Honey 250g

Sitting at the foot of the Poas Volcano, Hacienda Sonora operates on 100% renewable energy generated by a hydroelectric generator that transforms rushing rivers into energy. The energy fuels the wet and dry mills and provides free electricity for everyone living and working on the farm.

In fact, Hacienda Sonora’s entire focus is on sustainability and protecting the local environment. Thirty-five of it’s one hundred hectares are given over to wild forest; all coffees are either natural or honey processed (saving huge amounts of wastewater) and the coffee trees themselves are grown amongst native shade trees, promoting biodiversity.

The Catuaí varietal is a cross between Mundo Novo and Caturra, widely grown across Central and South America and the black honey processing lends this coffee a sweet, floral and fruity character.
